FAYETTEVILLE, Ga., Sept. 8, 2017 /PRNewswire/ --At a time when water is one of the most valuable elements on earth, Nimon Bondurant, the inventor of CamelTrain, is pleased to announce the release of his product to the public.

CamelTrain™ is the first all-membrane, nanofiltration-based portable water purification unit in the world. Using this recent technology, CamelTrain can remove viruses and bacteria, cysts, heavy metals, color, odor, flavor, and even radionucleotides from contaminated water. It produces near reverse osmosis quality water of up to 10 gallons per minute, at a minimal cost of US$.05 per cubic meter. It has a small ecological footprint, requires no filter replacement, can be pulled or carried, runs on alternating or direct current, and uses a 100% organic solution that prevents and breaks apart polysaccharide structures to keep its internal membranes from clogging and caking. The unit weighs less than 200 pounds, and takes less than one minute to set up.

According to research, "Over half of the world's hospital beds are occupied by people suffering from illnesses linked to contaminated water usage. (link)" This issue burdened Bondurant so much that he changed the direction of the product's original intent to fulfill this greater need. Bondurant understood that CamelTrain must go way beyond simply producing clean water for emergency response purposes; he considered the extent to which it could be managed in low-income settings (using available skills and materials) for developing countries, so it was designed to be a marriage of low-tech, rugged components with ultra-high-tech membrane technology.

About CamelTrain

Bondurant's desire to invent this amazing product was born after one-on-one discussion with a portable car wash vendor. He discovered that the vendor used a large amount of water to wash automobiles, allowing the water to simply run down the storm drain. Bondurant said, "I asked him why he did not recapture and purify the water so that it could last all day. He replied that any such device would add several hundred pounds to his load and would cost him thousands of additional dollars," and his vehicle simply did not have the space, nor could take the weight. It was at that moment Bondurant decided to use his electromechanical background to create a lower-cost and more portable water purifier. He added, "It took me nearly two years to create a truly portable device that was capable of separating emulsified soap from water," and another year of modifications brought this portable device to the size it is today.

As part of testing, Bondurant traveled to the Caribbean and demonstrated his technology by pulling water from a slaughterhouse evaporation pond, running it through a CamelTrain unit, and drinking it in front of the owners of the manufacturing plant. The owners said, "If you are alive tomorrow, we can do business." The lab results from this test are available on the website.

Priced at just $5,000, you can imagine the impact this device would make when mass-produced and distributed to the areas where water purification is needed. Bondurant is eager to make CamelTrain™ available to those who need it the most.
